RESULTS.EXE - CNE Assessment Test Results.
V2.11 (c) 1992 Eric J.G. Bonnell 73500,3250 March 15, 1992.
Do you wish that Novell told you which questions to study rather than
giving you a list of prescribed writings to go through? I'd rather know
what questions I've incorrectly answered, so as to find out the correct
response and maybe LEARN somenthing rather than constant guessing.
This program attempts to report on which questions you've gotten wrong
so that you can look over your work. This program has worked fine on all
the tests I've taken, but I can only account for some of them and only
for V2.0 and V2.1 of the CNE Assessment Test. The good news is you can't hurt
anything by running the test because it does not modify any existing files.
The results are placed in a new file RESULTS.RPT and by inspection if the
total number of questions matches what you took in the tests then you are
fine.
To run, simply copy the RESULTS.EXE file into the directory where you
have the CNE test located (specifically, the CNE~RSP.DAT file), and type
RESULTS <Enter>
The output file is called RESULTS.RPT and can be viewed or printed (it has
no page breaks built in so you may wish to supply them yourself).
DO NOT USE IF THE CREATION DATE OF THE ZIP FILE DOES NOT MATCH THAT ON
THE HEADER AT UNZIP TIME.
The following files must be included in the RESLTxxx.ZIP file:
1. RESULT.EXE - The executable program. Must run from the same
directory as the CNE~RSP.DAT file.
2. RESULT.DOC - This documentation file.
3. RESULT.PAS - The source code for all interested. Please take the
code apart if you wish. Alterations are welcome, so
long as the following rules are followed :
For you programmers, this simple program is written in Turbo Pascal V6.0,
(c) 1983,90 Borland International, Inc. The code is yours. However, if you
change the code, I REQUIRE these things be done to support version control
and to minimize virus infection:
1. Change the version number in the Salutations procedure. Add your name there
and date on its own seperate line as:
"Updated by Joe Smith."
If others have worked on this then list youself under their name.
2. DOCUMENT YOUR CHANGES at the top of the program where the version
history information is. Include your name, date and enhancements.
3. The three files, RESULTS.EXE, RESULTS.DOC and RESULTS.PAS must
be distributed in a zip file called RESLTxxx.ZIP where xxx is the
version number in the form x.xx (i.e. Version 1.00 should be found
in archived file RESLT100.ZIP). This file must have your name as part
of the header message as well as version and date of ZIP file
creation. As of V2.10, the version number should match the latest
CNE Assessment Test version number with subversions 0 through 9 (i.e.
the second update for CNE Assessment Test V2.1 would be RESULT.EXE V2.11,
the third would be V2.12, etc.).
It is recommended that a virus detection program be run before using
ANY new software package.
